The Friends Against Scams National Campaign

This new campaign aims to protect and prevent people from becoming victims of scams by empowering communities to “Take a Stand Against Scams”. Each year scams cause between £5bn and £10bn worth of detriment to UK consumers. In addition to the financial impact, scams can have a severe emotional and psychological effect on victims. We could all be victims of a scam, but the elderly and vulnerable are targeted by these criminals.

Public Protection fully supports this positive campaign as we see first-hand the devastating effect that scams have on the victims, their families and communities. It also builds on the already successful Stop the Scammers project led by Trading Standards.

With this in mind, I have organised a FREE Friends Against Scams session:

5th December 2016

10.30 -11.30 Friends Against Scams

Venue: Lecture Theatre, County Hall, Maidstone ME14 1XQ
